On 30th April, SuperSonic Imagine published its financial results for Q1 2021. These show that sales returned to growth during the quarter following four consecutive quarters of sales decline. Quarterly sales reached €5.8m, compared with €4.15m in Q1 2020, an increase of approximately +32% year-on-year.

Quarterly sales growth was driven by higher product sales, partially offset by lower sales from services. Product sales increased by +40%, while Services sales declined by -15%. Services accounted for 10% of quarterly sales, compared with 12% in Q1 2020. From a geographical perspective, quarterly sales growth was driven by higher sales from customers based in Asia and Europe, partially offset by lower sales from America. Both of the companies core markets, China and France, reported strong sales growth during the quarter. Sales revenue from China amounted to €3.3m during the quarter, and revenues from France amounted to €0.85m, an increase of +68% compared with Q1 2020.
